There was a little hiccup originally with the onboard flash, but that sorted itself out pretty quickly — maybe a week or so?. Once the kernel starts up it looks like the emmc is initialised again by the kernel's version of the mmc driver, so that's where it makes more sense to spend time trying to get full hs400 support working. I am very impressed that Pine64 was able to get a product out at such a low price. Work by Armbian and others have now brought several Allwinner SoCs up to speed. Both Pine and Chip are the same as these China cheating companies but the only difference, they are good in marketing and cheating customers.
At kickstarter, I also almost bought this Pine64 but I surveyed too long for 4 days. I didn't realize he had a dynamic tuning thing going on, sounds like he's going to be the key person for seeing if we can get the full performance out of the modules. I like it very much, even picked up the i2c hat so I can use some of my arduino things with it with ease. Price is not everything and in the case with these you get what you pay for, compatibility be damned. So on to the next one.

Conclusion I have one of the first thousand Pine64s in the world. They are for stubborn people who want so much impressions and ditched quality vs price. This car is clearly not for me. If you check up their forum, its a mess everywhere. Browser and play store seemed to work without issue and is actually a pleasure to work with.
